Intern Season in Silicon Valley
Being an intern in Silicon Valley felt a lot like college for me (but better). Different companies would be equivalent to different schools, and company offices would feel like school campuses, the large ones anyway. For all the interns in the valley, this was our time to grow and learn as much as we could while experiencing it with other young, talented students from across the world. We were excited, motivated, and all extremely eager to be working in Silicon valley. The amount of energy was incredible. I've never seen people my age so excited to go to work before! Being an intern in the Silicon Valley also meant that we were super spoiled with food, free swag, and a calendar full of fun intern events made just for us.
Companies in the area took advantage of the annual summer intern season and would host open houses or intern events to scout out the flock of new interns for potential hires. Often, I would have to make the hard decision of choosing which intern events to go to because they would land on the same evening.
I had a lot of fun visiting other companies and getting a better understanding of their culture and how it shapes Silicon Valley. Each company carried something unique and different, and it was important for me to try to get a glimpse of it to help me figure out where I wanted to go after I graduate next year. It was also really nice to meet interns from other companies hearing their stories and experiences so far in the Bay Area.
Below are few photos from the many intern/design events I attended in the Bay Area! A big thanks to all the intern/design event co-ordinators for hosting these!
